Earlier this week Apple showed us a glimpse of what’s to come for AR in the near future, the AR clips that were shown at this year’s apple event demonstrated the sheer power of the new camera and chip on the iPhone X. Demonstrations ranged from gaming, sport, even education! One by one, each application showed off high-fidelity visuals placed dynamically in the real world.
One of the minor new upgrades that will be coming to the new iPhone X’s AR is talking poo, that’s right talking poo… but it’s not all bad, all your emojis will now have the capability to come to life and copy your facial reactions with Apple’s face recognition sensors for hours of endless fun.
Moving onto the more exciting new applications that we will be seeing on our screen towards the start of next year is IKEA‘s new application. How many times have you bought furniture to then realise when you get home it wasn’t quite what you expected? Well, that won’t be a problem anymore; IKEA has come up with the solution of letting you test design your home with their furniture without having to spend a penny, watch the video below for a full overview.
Huge gaming establishments like Minecraft will soon be letting you bring your favorite games to life, literally! Mixing gaming with reality you will be able to build your Minecraft empire in your front room, now that’s cool. This is a huge step for the gaming community and I’m sure there will definitely be more to come in the near future.
Overall we can see that there is going to be some great new AR apps in store for us in the IOS11 update, let us know which one is your favorite in the comments below.
